Here you will find examples of graphite pencil drawings of horses, dogs, cats, buildings, gardens and other pets and wildlife. The drawings in the Gallery are mainly portrait commissions with a few being sold exhibition pieces. |
Cathy specialises in equine art, with her favourite being the Spanish Andalucian horse as she loves the regal attitude of Spanish horses and especially favours them wearing traditional Spanish tack with mosqueros (fly fringes). She makes regular trips to Spain to gather reference work at fairs, breeding studs and competitions. |
|
Although Cathy has not had formal artistic training, she has worked as an animal artist for over 25 years and is a Full Member of The Society of Equestrian Artists and also a Full Member of the Society of Women Artists. She specialises in monochrome pencil drawings and her style of work is very precise and detailed to the point of being photorealistic. |
|
Cathy also worked with horses for many years which has given her a deep understanding of equine anatomy, which has become central to her talent as a refined equestrian artist. |

Cathy undertakes commissions in pencil. All of her commissions are undertaken from photographs, which she prefers to take herself. However, if impossible, she will require very sharp, good quality photographs to work from. Cathy has exhibited her work in many places including the prestigious Mall Galleries in London. She has won many prizes for her drawings and some sculpture. |
